Every year, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) reviews the FHA loan limits is all counties in the nation and compares them to the average home price in each location. For the most part, the loan limits are increased every year in an effort to keep up with an increase in home prices. This is exactly what happened from 2022 to 2023 with FHA loan limits in Idaho.
In December 2022, the HUD announced that it would be increasing Idaho FHA loan limits for 2023.
These changes are a response to the home-price gains that took place throughout 2022. In Idaho, property values across all counties have risen steadily in recent years. According to Zillow, a real estate information company, the median home price for Idaho increased by 4% from December 2021 to December 2022 to reach $467,694. As a result, FHA loan limits for Idaho are up for 2023.
